Where is Kingston?
Kingston is in zone 6 of London, right on the outskirts. It is actually the oldest of three Royal Boroughs in London. Situated just beside the Thames River, it boosts beautiful sceneries.
I have the luxury of staying just across the road from the famous Thames River and it definitely did not disappoint.
Swans and ducks can be seen playing carefreely in the river. One can also take a ferry to visit the Hampton Court Palace, a very large royal palace, complete with garden, maze and fountain, that has not been lived in since the 18th century. Of course, the Hampton Court Palace will be one of the places of interests I will be visiting over the next few days.
Taking a slow walk along the river from where I stay in Seething Wells will take you to Kingston town centre. We took about 30mins stopping by to take photos of this lovely place.
Along the way, we passed by St Raphaels Church.
While in Kingston town, do remember to check out the 'Tumbling Telephones', a sculpture of twelve telephone boxes leaning on the one beside, creating a domino effect.
Shopping is good in Kingston with your usual big brands just round the corners but do note that most shops close at 6pm so get your shopping done before that.
